Blue Surf Art was originally established on Koh Samui, Surat Thani, Thailand, in 2007.

The studio began with a small team of seven artists who shared a passion for traditional oil painting and fine art craftsmanship. From the early days, the goal was simple: create high-quality hand-painted artwork rather than mass-produced prints.

As Head Artist, Kate developed a deep understanding of each artist's strengths and specialties. Some artists excelled in abstract art, while others focused on portrait painting, Asian-inspired artwork, pop art, contemporary styles, or highly detailed oil painting reproductions.

This approach allowed Blue Surf Art to carefully match each commission with the artist best suited for the project, ensuring the highest level of quality and attention to detail.

In 2015, Blue Surf Art relocated its studio from Koh Samui to Bangkok.

The move provided better access to professional art materials, premium canvases, specialty supplies, and international shipping services. Being based in Bangkok also made it easier to serve a growing international client base and manage larger, more complex commissions.
