Benozzo Gozzoli
Benozzo Gozzoli (c. 1421–1497) was a celebrated painter of the Early Renaissance, renowned for his richly detailed frescoes and storytelling mastery. A pupil of Fra Angelico, Gozzoli combined the spiritual elegance of his teacher with his own gift for vibrant narrative scenes filled with movement, landscape, and decorative beauty.
His most famous masterpiece, the Procession of the Magi in the Medici Riccardi Palace in Florence, captures Renaissance pageantry with stunning detail, portraying not only biblical figures but also portraits of the powerful Medici family. Gozzoli also painted extensive fresco cycles in churches across Tuscany, earning recognition as one of the most prolific fresco painters of the 15th century.
