Francesco del Cossa
Francesco del Cossa (c. 1436–1478) was a distinguished painter of the Italian Renaissance, associated with the School of Ferrara and later active in Bologna. Known for his strong sense of perspective, vibrant colors, and monumental figures, Cossa helped shape the visual identity of Renaissance art in northern Italy.
His most celebrated works include the frescoes of the Palazzo Schifanoia in Ferrara, particularly the Allegories of the Months, which combine mythological symbolism, courtly elegance, and intricate detail. Later, in Bologna, he painted the striking Polyptych of St. Vincent Ferrer, admired for its rich color harmonies and balanced composition.
At Blue Surf Art, we bring Francesco del Cossa’s art to life with museum-quality, hand-painted oil on canvas reproductions. Each painting is carefully recreated by skilled artists, preserving the brilliance, structure, and Renaissance character of the originals.
