Returns Policy

At Blue Surf Art, every painting is individually hand-painted and made to order by our professional artists. Because our artworks are handmade and often customized specifically for each customer, returns are not automatically accepted in the same way as mass-produced retail items.

Please read our returns policy carefully before placing your order.


1. Return Request Timeframe

If you believe there is an issue with your order, you must contact Blue Surf Art within 48 hours of receiving your artwork.

Your return request must include:

  • Your order number

  • A clear written explanation of the issue

  • Clear photo evidence of the artwork and packaging

  • Supporting images or documentation showing the reason for the claim

Requests submitted after 48 hours of confirmed delivery may not be eligible for review.


2. Return Requests Must Be Approved First

Customers must not return any artwork without prior written approval from Blue Surf Art.

Unauthorized returns sent without approval may be refused and may not be eligible for refund, exchange, or compensation.

Each request will be reviewed individually based on the evidence provided.


3. Eligible Reasons for Return Review

Return or exchange requests may be considered in cases such as:

  • Artwork arrived damaged during shipping

  • Wrong artwork received

  • Wrong size received

  • Major production error materially different from the confirmed order

  • Significant issue approved by Blue Surf Art after review

All claims must be supported with photo evidence.


4. Non-Eligible Reasons for Return

Returns or exchanges will generally not be accepted for reasons such as:

  • Change of mind

  • Personal taste or subjective preference

  • Expecting exact photographic duplication from a hand-painted artwork

  • Minor artistic variations inherent in handmade paintings

  • Color differences caused by lighting, photography, monitor, or screen settings

  • Claims based on low-resolution, unclear, cropped, or limited customer reference images

  • Dissatisfaction raised after approval of mockup or artwork proof (where applicable)

  • Requests made after multiple revisions have already been completed


5. Custom & Commission Portrait Orders

Custom commissioned paintings, portrait artworks, personalized compositions, and specially requested artworks are created specifically for each customer and cannot be resold.

Because of the substantial time, artistic labor, mockup preparation, and materials invested:

Custom commission orders are generally not eligible for return.

In exceptional cases, Blue Surf Art may review requests individually and may offer a partial goodwill resolution at its sole discretion.


6. Return Shipping

If a return is approved:

  • Customers must follow the return instructions provided by Blue Surf Art

  • Artwork must be returned in its original condition

  • Return shipping responsibility will be determined based on the nature of the approved claim

Blue Surf Art reserves the right to reject returned items that are damaged, altered, or improperly packaged after delivery.


7. Exchange Requests

Exchange requests may be considered only after review and approval.

Blue Surf Art reserves the right to determine whether the appropriate resolution will be:

  • repair

  • replacement

  • exchange

  • partial refund

  • or another fair solution based on the case


8. Final Review

As every painting is unique and handmade, all return and exchange requests are reviewed case by case.

Blue Surf Art reserves the right to make the final decision based on:

  • evidence provided

  • order history

  • approval process

  • production stage

  • customization level

  • and fairness to both customer and artist
